Caltrol’s Engineering Department is a business unit of Caltrol specializing in Control Systems Engineering and Systems Integration. This business unit consists of three groups of specialized personnel: Technology Consulting, Systems Engineering, and Project Management.
We offer a wide variety of process control services from concept to maintenance, and can implement a system tailored to meet your specific needs. While we specialize in the configuration and integration of Emerson Process Management systems like DeltaV, Provox, RS3 and RMV, Caltrol can create and support systems based on numerous platforms. We have experience with instrumentation, valves and system hardware & software, from leading manufacturers, to assist you with systems integration, migrations/upgrades of legacy systems and expansion projects.
Caltrol utilizes a project team approach to executing engineering solutions. Each member of the team plays an important role in delivering a solution that meets your needs. Technology Consultants, who are familiar with your industry and specific application, define and clarify the project requirements. Project Management provides a structured environment with financial and quality controls, status review, customer communications and project scheduling. System Engineers apply state-of-the-art hardware, software and application knowledge, all culminating in a project that not only meets your needs, but was implemented on time and within budget. top of page
Caltrol brings together some of the finest expertise in industrial automation, control and instrumentation products. Our service area includes California, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico. Caltrol Field Services is dedicated to rapid, skillful response to your field service needs.
Caltrol’s service departments are on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. One call to our service number after hours will get you in touch with the on call service representative. In addition to meeting customer requirements by providing product directly from one of several Emerson Process Management or other manufacturing locations, we also deliver product from our own warehouse/shops in Las Vegas, Pleasanton, CA and Honolulu. We maintain a local inventory of commonly used parts and assemblies for use when quick delivery is a requirement.
Caltrol is also linked electronically with Fisher’s factories, other representatives’ offices and the Emerson Instrument and Valve Services network. If a plant emergency arises or when the equipment you need is not on our shelf, we will search the Fisher network to fill and ship your order from a variety of other sources to meet your delivery requirements.
Caltrol shop personnel assemble, modify or fabricate various valve, instrumentation and control systems to your specifications, or as part of a turnkey project scope. Caltrol goes through rigorous testing to insure that your valves are Fisher Certified. About Fisher Certified top of page
Our staff of trained technicians provides assembly services for a variety of products when delivery is critical or when special or “custom” designs are required to meet a specific application. The services we provide may be as simple as performing a spring change in a pressure regulator or as complex as the design, assembly and test of a valve with a stroke speed requirement of less than 1 second for Anti-Surge protection of a gas turbine. top of page
Caltrol’s Valve Automation group specializes in automating valves with pneumatic, electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic actuators. We can mount virtually any type of actuator to any type of globe, butterfly, gate, or ball valve to meet your specific automation needs. There is no actuation job too large or too small for Caltrol to address, and custom mounting brackets are our specialty.
We provide a complete valve automation package including system design, CAD generated documentation, and wiring instructions. Actuator mounting can be performed in our shop or in the field and installation service is available. All this capability is the result of over 30 years of experience in the valve automation industry. top of page
| Control Panel Fabrication |
Caltrol’s shop technicians assemble custom control panels in our Pleasanton and Arizona Shop facilities utilizing commercially available components whenever possible.
Caltrol’s Project Engineers and panel designers generate detailed panel designs and layout drawings for each enclosure. Shop technicians use approved drawings to build panels per the specifications. Control panels fabricated by Caltrol are subjected to a control panel test procedure with the results documented. Panel tests include: Nameplate and wire identification verification; Wire continuity and mechanical soundness; Specific functionality tests; Power, fuse and grounding; and Workmanship. top of page

Emerson Learning Solutions is committed to providing quality training to all our customers. Caltrol Training Capabilities

 Caltrol offers local customized training that compliments the courses offered by Emerson Learning Solutions. We have experienced industrial professionals who have first-hand field experience with our products and can tailor a course to meet your exact needs where you need it.
Caltrol has two training facilities to accommodate your training needs. Our PlantWeb training center is equipped to provide instruction for up to eight students complete with DeltaV workstations and controller hardware. Additionally, the system includes live PlantWeb field devices from Rosemount Measurement, Fisher Controls, MicroMotion and Rosemount Analytical. Our large multi-purpose Main Training Center can accommodate up to 50 students for training in a large group format.
